About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team as an On-Call Support Specialist. As a key member of our crisis response team, you will provide critical support to individuals in need, working closely with residents who are progressing toward independent living.

Job Description: The On-Call Support Specialist will be responsible for providing emotional support, demonstrating and teaching living skills, coordinating program activities, and facilitating groups and client activities in our residential programs. You will also assist individuals in managing their crisis at our Crisis Respite Center, offering information, advocacy, and referrals for continued assistance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support to residents in our residential programs
  • Assist individuals in managing their crisis at our Crisis Respite Center
  • Offer information, advocacy, and referrals for continued assistance and support
  • Demonstrate and teach living skills to residents
  • Coordinate program activities and facilitate groups and client activities

Requirements:

  • Ability to work with individuals who have a mental health diagnosis
  • Lived experience as a mental health consumer or a family member/loved one of a mental health consumer is desirable
  • Knowledge of Sacramento community organizations and community resources is highly desirable
  • Mental health crisis intervention experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably individuals who are dually diagnosed (mental health & substance abuse) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of 12-Step Programs and/or personal experience with substance abuse recovery is highly desirable

Benefits:

  • $19.01 per hour pay rate
  • Overtime as requested and approved
  • Ability to pass clearance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and/or Department of Justice (DOJ) background screenings
