The University of Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Post-Doctoral Associate to engage in groundbreaking research focused on organ cryopreservation for transplantation. This role is part of a collaborative effort between the Division of Solid Organ Transplantation and the Bioheat and Mass Transfer Laboratory.
Research Focus
The primary objective of this research is to innovate methodologies for the cryopreservation of cells and tissues, addressing significant challenges in transplantation and regenerative medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to projects aimed at extending the viability of donor organs and engineered tissues, facilitating their application in clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct microsurgical procedures and ex vivo organ perfusion.
- Perform biological assessments and maintain detailed documentation of protocols.
- Analyze data and contribute to scientific publications.
- Collaborate on various related research initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- MD, PhD, or MD/PhD with relevant surgical experience.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience in biological characterization, microscopy, and preclinical animal surgeries.
- Familiarity with cryopreservation techniques and data analysis.
