Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare providers. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies, as well as performing general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patient charts for daily scheduled appointments, ensuring all necessary information is up-to-date and accessible to providers.
- Conduct rooming activities, including vital sign measurements, medication lists, and health maintenance overrides, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Obtain and document age- and condition-specific measurements, including vital signs, height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
- Conduct and document hearing, vision, respiratory, and ECG testing, as well as specific screenings based on condition or need.
- Process specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment, and perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Administer medications and immunizations, including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal, and topical routes, as appropriate.
- Process medication prescription refills, handle prior authorization processes, and document accordingly.
- Manage clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled, and par levels are maintained.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- One to three years of medical assistant experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification/ABR-OE strongly recommended.
- Computer/EMR experience preferred.
