Job Title: Field and Housing Inspector

Job Summary:

The Field and Housing Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of residential properties. This position involves conducting comprehensive inspections to assess properties' condition and adherence to local, state, and federal housing codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to identify compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and local, state, and federal housing standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting observations, deficiencies, and recommendations.
  • Verify that properties meet required safety standards, including electrical systems, plumbing, structural integrity, and overall habitability.
  • Provide expert advice to property owners and managers on necessary repairs or upgrades to bring properties into compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with local government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any violations or issues found during inspections.
  • Oversee and track the progress of repair or renovation projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: GED or High School degree required; further education in construction management, building technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing inspection, construction, or a related field. Previous experience with Allworld Project Management or a similar organization is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Housing Inspector Certification, Building Inspector Certification, or similar credentials are desirable.

Working Conditions:

This role involves primarily field-based inspections with some office work for report preparation and coordination. You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items. Occasional travel within the assigned inspection area may be required.

Pay:

$23.00 per hour

Expected hours:

20 – 25 per week; Part-time position
