About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities and Fleet to lead our Operations Branch team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of our facilities and fleet, including leading the Facilities and Fleet unit within the Operations Branch. This role requires a collaborative leader who can inspire a culture of safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Financial Management and Administration:
    • Manage the budget for all facilities-related projects and ensure timely completion and satisfactory performance of all contracted work.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities investment and maintenance plan.
    • Manage the Work Order system to ensure timely and appropriate response to all maintenance needs.
  • Fleet:
    • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Develop and enforce safety protocols for drivers.
  • Supervision and Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and direct the efforts of the Facilities and Fleet staff and associated vendors or contractors.
    • Manage a team of 2-4 full-time staff and ensure they understand both day-to-day responsibilities and the role of the department as it relates to the effective operations and strategic direction of the Parks Conservancy.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in applying theories, principles, practices, and techniques of maintenance management of buildings, associated utilities, grounds, and other miscellaneous facilities.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of people, inclusive of different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, ages, and viewpoints.
  • Knowledge and ability to prepare an annual financial plan, cyclic and rehabilitation work programs, and input to related management systems.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, systems, and safety practices, including OSHA.
What We Offer

The Parks Conservancy provides its employees with a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development. This position is full-time, and you must already be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area. The hiring range for this position is an annual salary of $120,000-$125,000 (Grade 22). The final salary within this range will be determined based on relevant experience.
