Position Overview

The State of Connecticut is in search of a highly skilled and compassionate Principal Psychiatrist to enhance the mental health services provided to our community. This role requires board certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. If you are not yet board certified, consider exploring our Staff Psychiatrist opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and support staff, to deliver high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing assessment and monitoring of treatment efficacy and patient progress.
  • Serve as a liaison between the agency and community healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in training and supervision of clinical staff, fostering a collaborative environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Potential recruitment incentive of up to $30,000 in addition to the base salary.
  • Annual bonus of $3,000 for board-certified physicians.
  • Additional $5,000 annual bonus for physicians with a second board certification related to their practice.
  • Voluntary on-call and weekend coverage opportunities with additional compensation.
  • Support for continuing medical education and professional development.

Work Environment

This position is primarily outpatient, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. The team is equipped with extensive resources, including case managers and recovery support specialists, to assist clients effectively.
