Job Overview

This role serves as a key position within the Applications Group, reporting directly to the Products Supervisor. Collaborating closely with the Principal Product Consultant, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive SAP Security application support across a diverse and intricate portfolio of SAP applications.

Key Responsibilities

The SAP Security Lead Consultant will:
  • Architect, develop, and sustain security management practices across various SAP environments while offering strategic solution recommendations.
  • Promote the exploration and utilization of standard solutions as a priority.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate and governmental security regulations.
  • Formulate, manage, and execute proactive security maintenance initiatives, oversee problem management, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective action plans while monitoring security service level agreements (SLAs).

Essential Duties

  • Deliver technical expertise and leadership in risk assessments, architectural design, implementation, and operational aspects of information security plans focused on SAP environments, including ECC, CRM, Business Warehouse, NetWeaver, GRC 10.1, and other SAP applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain user management and security architecture across multiple SAP environments while providing insightful solution recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with security guidelines, including Segregation of Duties (SoD), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and privacy standards.
  • Develop and implement SAP security policies, processes, architecture, training, and communication strategies.
  • Manage access control and design account security for information resources within the SAP landscape, ensuring alignment with company process controls.
  • Support the generation of scheduled reports to uphold internal controls leveraging SAP security mechanisms.
  • Advise on information security opportunities that align with business objectives in utilizing SAP systems.
  • Develop, test, and implement security plans, awareness communications, products, and control techniques for SAP application initiatives and operational support.
  • Lead the evaluation, development, and implementation of security standards, procedures, and guidelines across various platforms and systems with a focus on SAP environments.
  • Provide technical support and training to the Information Security team and assist management in developing project plans and timelines.
  • Investigate and recommend corrective actions for information security incidents.
  • Stay informed about existing and proposed security standards, state and federal legislation, and regulations pertaining to information security.
  • Identify regulatory changes impacting information security policies, standards, and procedures, and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Be available for on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the technology sector.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with and supporting SAP applications, specifically in security oversight.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP Security design, administration, and configuration, particularly for financial products.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through project management or related experiences.
  • Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies, requirements management, quality assurance, and IT processes.
  • Broad knowledge of finance and accounting functions and applications, along with system and technology alternatives.
  • Ability to quickly grasp process dependencies and linkages across the business, especially in finance, to effectively assess and support current needs and future growth strategies.
  • Proficiency in IT analysis methodologies, including process flow definition and data flow diagramming.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide analytical conclusions and support recommended actions/decisions clearly, adapting to the audience's needs.
  • Ability to maintain strong client relationships with integrity and follow-through.
  • Ability to understand process dependencies and linkages across the business to support current needs and future strategic growth.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills, fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting diversity.
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn new technical concepts.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Technical/software certifications such as AWS certification.
  • Relevant technical experience in programming, development, or coding.
  • Understanding of basic financial principles, including project financial budgeting and planning.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Graduate degree or MBA.
  • Experience with ITIL & CMMI.
