Job Title: Technical Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team at Chemetall U.S., Inc. as a Chemical Sales Representative. This is a nationwide opportunity to work with a leading company in the surface treatment chemicals industry.

Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for selling Chemetall surface treatment chemicals to established and prospective customers in an assigned territory. This individual will provide complete sales and service, ensuring safe quality product performance while maximizing profitability within their assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and providing tailored sales presentations and proposals
  • Manage territory profitability by reviewing compensation margins, providing margin improvement through product selection and pricing
  • Plan and execute a weekly itinerary of calls to allocate time effectively and ensure proper territory coverage
  • Make sales presentations, both orally and in written, and provide pricing quotes, price, and delivery policy within established limits
  • Attain sales plan by securing new customers, increasing sales to current customers, and renewing orders
  • Provide customer service, including training customers on proper and safe use of Chemetall materials
  • Maintain records of activities in the territory, reporting competitive activities that impact sales, and preparing and submitting call reports, exception reports, and in-plant service reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business
  • Minimum of 2 years of B2B sales experience, with prior chemical sales experience preferred
  • Ability to make sales presentations, follow up with written proposals, and manage customer contracts
  • Well-organized with sales planning and territory management skills
  • Customer acquisition mentality for new customer acquisition and continuous up-/cross-selling opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver's license in good standing, as a company car will be provided
