About the Role

Washington Metro is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor, Elevator/Escalator to oversee the effective maintenance and repair of our elevators and escalators. This critical position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation systems.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of elevator and escalator mechanics, inspecting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work, and ensuring quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications and codes. They will also respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and provide written reports on findings and recommendations for corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel and ensure effective execution of maintenance and repair work
  • Inspect scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work to ensure quality and compliance
  • Respond to emergencies and conduct investigations as needed
  • Provide written reports on findings and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure adherence to maintenance procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in the elevators/escalators field, including at least 6 months of experience performing or witnessing inspections
  • National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) QEI-1 certification or equivalent certification recognized in District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia jurisdictions
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license
