Job Summary

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Director to lead the development and execution of the organization's compensation and benefits strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compensation and benefits management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs. They will be responsible for overseeing the administration of compensation programs, conducting market research and analysis, and developing and delivering training and communication materials to educate employees on compensation and benefits programs.

The Compensation and Benefits Director will also be responsible for ensuring that appropriate financial planning and forecasting of salary and benefits program expenses are in line with financial budgets. They will provide guidance and support to HR teams and management on compensation-related issues, including job evaluations, FLSA and salary negotiations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations. They will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and incentive plans.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to ensure competitive compensation structures and benefits offerings.
  • Develop and deliver training and communication materials to educate employees on compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure that appropriate financial planning and forecasting of salary and benefits program expenses are in line with financial budgets.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR teams and management on compensation-related issues, including job evaluations, FLSA and salary negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred with a minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits management.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $135,000 (Salary is commensurate with experience.) This is a hybrid position, located in UNCF's Washington DC Headquarters building.
