Product Engineering Manager

The Product Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of the Engineering Department's activities in designing and laying out cabinets and countertops. This role will ensure the department's goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and parameters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Manage Engineering Group: Direct the activities of the engineering team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Design and Modify Existing Designs: Direct department activities to design and modify existing designs, improve techniques, and develop procedures.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Resolve problems using solutions involving new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
  • Project Planning and Review: Analyze technology trends and market demands to plan projects, and review project proposals or plans to determine time frames, procedures, and resource allocation.
  • Design Review and Compliance: Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other team leaders and departments, and advise management of new developments affecting profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and inter-departmental relations.
  • Product Development and Prototyping: Develop new products and oversee design to actual prototype.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain high-level expertise in their field, strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product design, and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree: Required
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Experience: Preferred
  • Prior Leadership Experience: Preferred
  • Knowledge of Construction Industry: Required
  • Supervisory and Management Skills: Ability to supervise and manage multi-level employees, schedule and control work projects, perform administrative duties, work with mathematical concepts, and knowledge of database software, design software, manufacturing software, and spreadsheet software, CAD drawing software.
