Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to engage in the research and development of advanced signal processing algorithms specifically tailored for sonar and underwater acoustics. This role involves the implementation, validation, and performance evaluation of these algorithms within the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and verify algorithms in both real-time and simulated environments.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of high-frequency sonar data.
  • Engage in the research and development of innovative signal and detection processing algorithms.
  • Document findings and present results effectively.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using signal and statistical processing software.
  • Familiarity with both hardware and software components.

Note: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and will undergo a government security investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering/science with relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and testing signal processing algorithms.
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis techniques.
  • Strong skills in MATLAB programming and a solid understanding of acoustics.
  • Experience in Linux and/or UNIX environments, with some knowledge of C and/or C++ programming.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Salary Range

Compensation is negotiable, ranging from $88,500 to $120,000, based on qualifications.

  • Potential for weekend, evening, and holiday work.
  • Some travel may be required.
