About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Product Manager to join our team at SAIC. As a key member of our Space Command and Control program, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Planning and Requirements Definition: Perform technical planning, high-level and detailed requirements definition, software systems integration, and technical support for software systems and subsystems.
  • Strategic Advice and Execution: Provide expert advice to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding strategies and execution.
  • Software Systems Support: Support various software systems, including lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, and decision analysis.
  • Program Management: Manage and integrate activities in accordance with contract requirements and ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance.
  • Program Baseline and Execution: Define or contribute to the program baseline then execute the program to comply with baseline requirements.
  • User Needs and Vision: Understand and represent User needs, defining a vision for products, align stakeholders around the vision for the product.
  • Product Prioritization and Execution: Support prioritizing product features and capabilities, as well as identify execution issues and provide recommendations when possible.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Generate presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communication products to assist the government customer in achieving favorable program outcomes.
  • Milestone and Initiative Development: Develop milestone/initiative ideas and recommend to user community in concert with the product vision. Offer actionable recommendations to the senior program manager and chief of product.
  • User-Centered Design: Facilitates developer/user engagements to ensure user-centered design.
  • Agile Backlog Prioritization: Support prioritization of Agile backlogs.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of related experience in acquisitions reviewing status of projects and budgets; managing and preparing status reports (4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree).
  • Clearance and Security: Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Program access, as well as a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
  • Communication and Team Skills: Ability to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office.
  • User Engagement and Requirements Gathering: Experience engaging with users to gather outcomes needed for software.
  • Software Development Tools: Proficient in JIRA and Confluence software development tools.
  • User-Centered Design Methodologies: Understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
  • Communication and Presentation: Comfortable briefing large audiences and senior executives on product vision and software requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Development of Best Practices: Development of best practices for user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls, prepare operating instructions, design and develop autonomous services, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Software Changes and Configuration Management: Understanding of software changes and configuration management policies, implementing changes within pipeline development.
  • System Configuration and Monitoring: Management of system configuration and monitoring changes to increase effectiveness or efficiencies in the systems capabilities toward monitoring and implementing logical access controls to enforce policy.
  • Secure Coding Practices: Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software using secure coding practices.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure.
  • Kubernetes and Online Services: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Online Services, and Active Directory.
  • Agile Development: Experience of setting up and leading Agile development.
  • Confluence, JIRA, and Smart Sheets: Experience with Confluence, JIRA and or smart sheets.
  • Cloud Service Provider Certifications: Certifications in any of the following Cloud Service Providers (CSPs): MAW, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, or Adobe Cloud.
