We are seeking a highly skilled Major Gifts Officer to join our team at the Houston Food Bank. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individual and corporate donors to support our mission of providing food and nutrition assistance to those in need.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to build relationships with major donors and prospects, including identifying new opportunities and stewarding existing relationships.
- Research and analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, and develop targeted strategies to increase major gift revenue.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure a cohesive and effective development strategy, and provide regular updates on progress and results.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Houston Food Bank's programs, services, and impact, and be able to effectively communicate this information to donors and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Director of Major Gifts to develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy, and provide regular progress reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field, such as business, public administration, or non-profit management.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, with a proven track record of success in identifying and securing major gifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop targeted strategies to increase major gift revenue.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
