Job Description

The Mayor's Office of Talent and Appointments seeks a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Office of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing. As a key advisor, you will provide guidance to the Mayor and the Director of the Office on issues related to deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing residents of the District of Columbia.

Responsibilities
  • Advise the Mayor and the Director of the Office on deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing issues
  • Represent the diversity of people and ideas within the District's deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing community
  • Meet with the Advisory Committee once per quarter, or more frequently as determined by the Chairperson or the Director
Requirements
  • Residency in the District of Columbia for at least one year prior to appointment
  • Ability to commit to a three-year term, with the possibility of reappointment
  • Passion for disability rights and advocacy
