Anesthesia Technician Specialist

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in supporting Anesthesia providers in delivering quality care to patients undergoing outpatient surgery and/or Anesthesia Interventional procedures. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked workroom, ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies and clean functioning equipment.
- Cleans and restocks Anesthesia carts, regional block carts, and Anesthesia machines daily, and coordinates repairs/maintenance with BioMedical.
- Provides assistance to Anesthesia providers with difficult intubations, regional anesthesia blocks, and responds to codes and emergencies in the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Monitors and records department quality controls, such as refrigerator temperature, and provides input to ASC leadership team on Anesthesia Department support and issues.
- Practices aseptic technique, rooms, positions, and supports patients during procedures, and takes, records, and reports vital signs.
- Documents objective information into the electronic medical record (EMR) and participates in universal protocol time-out procedure with Anesthesia provider.
- Provides patients with post-procedure documentation following Anesthesia Interventional procedures and performs point-of-care testing such as blood glucose.
