As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will take charge of the deployment and oversight of our server and client systems that facilitate our manufacturing processes across multiple locations and support a significant number of end users.
In collaboration with our Information Technology team, you will ensure that our server environments are optimized for operational efficiency by monitoring performance metrics and executing maintenance activities, including upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting. Your role will also involve translating the functional needs of our manufacturing teams into actionable IT deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Oversight and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups.
- Manage Nutanix AOS/AHV on-premise environments.
2. Network Administration:
- Oversee and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues while ensuring data security.
3. User Assistance:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of new user accounts and devices.
- Educate employees on IT best practices and security measures.
4. Security and Compliance:
- Implement and uphold IT security policies, procedures, and access controls in compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain precise documentation of system configurations, procedures, and user manuals.
- Create and update IT policies and procedures as necessary.
6. Vendor Relations:
- Manage relationships with IT service providers and vendors.
- Procure hardware and software as required, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
7. Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
- Regularly test and validate backup and recovery procedures.
8. Technology Assessment:
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or enhancements.
- Evaluate and suggest software and hardware solutions to meet organizational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar IT Systems Administrator role.
- Proficiency in Windows and Azure environments.
- Experience with SAP Business One ERP and MS SQL Server is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and firewall management.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., Nutanix, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., O365, Azure) is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) are beneficial.
