Job Summary

Randolph-Macon College is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer-Cloud & Directory Services to join its IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the college's directory services, collaboration suite, and cloud services hosted in Azure and Microsoft365.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory services and infrastructure.
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts and groups.
  • Implement and manage Group Policies.
  • Monitor and optimize Active Directory performance.
  • Ensure security and compliance with policies and best practices.
  • Implement and manage access controls and permissions.
  • Perform regular audits of Active Directory environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory-related issues.
  • Manage and support Office 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of Office 365 environment.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses.
  • Implement and maintain security policies and compliance measures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Office 365 services.
  • Stay updated with the latest Office 365 features and updates.
  • Implement and manage multi-factor authentication and other security measures.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft support for issue resolution and service requests.
  • Maintain integrations with other third-party applications using cloud service platforms (Azure, Google)
  • Administration of colleges Google Workspace for education
  • Management, deployment, and monitoring of campus network infrastructure.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation for ITS critical systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience as a senior Microsoft Exchange or Active Directory administrator (Exchange Online and Azure Active Directory preferred).
  • Must have experience with Windows server operating systems in an Active Directory environment.
  • Knowledge of managing and working with virtual Windows servers in virtualized environment.
  • Knowledge of MS Exchange Server and MS Exchange online in a hybrid environment
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of OAuth, SAML federation, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Privileged Access Management
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP internetworking including DNS and DHCP.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with information security best practices and incident response management
  • Knowledge of various other software and hardware platforms as needed.
  • Well-developed oral and written skills.
  • Proactively learns competencies and technical skills required to stay current with industry best practices.
  • Applies learning education to improve work processes for internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to focus in a rapid, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and can perform in a multi-task environment. Ability to work independently.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Incident and problem management along with root cause analysis.
  • Change management and communication.
  • Project and time management based on tasks and work assignments. Ability to prioritize and set goals on the use of time to complete important tasks and assignments.
  • Testing and validation of software installation and changes, including test plans procedures and documentation.
