Job Description

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Relationship Manager IV to join our team in NYC. As a key member of our Commercial Banking team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with commercial clients, administering existing loans, demand and time deposits, and cross-selling related banking accounts and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a customer call program to attract new banking relationships and grow existing ones.
  • Extend and sustain relationships with clients to maintain and grow business.
  • Generate high-quality new loan, deposit, and fee business through habitual calls on prospective clients.
  • Plan portfolio growth through business planning and alignment with departmental budget and overall Bank asset/liability management objectives.
  • Convene with customers to discuss business needs and recommend ways Capital One can serve their needs.
  • Accountable for the sale and administration of all financial institution services, including loans, deposits, and investment banking.
  • Coordinate with various divisions and departments to service routine transactions and solve customer issues.
  • Assess demand deposit profitability and outline strategies to bring unprofitable accounts back to profitable status.
  • Analyze requests and financial data to determine if loans meet acceptable risk standards and are within policy.
  • Evaluate credit risk and review compensating demand deposit balances to properly price loans.
  • Acquire collateral documents and approve the release or substitution of collateral in accordance with loan policy.
  • Collaborate with borrowing customers to procure updated financial information.
  • Act as a first line of defense to mitigate evolving credit risks.
  • Follow up on loan exceptions to ensure timely clearing and control the volume of exceptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in commercial banking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Completion of formal credit training program.
  • 8+ years of loan origination experience.
