Wound Care Specialist for Chronic Wound Healing

PeaceHealth is a renowned not-for-profit Catholic health system seeking an experienced Wound Care Specialist to join their esteemed team at the Southwest Medical Center Wound Healing Center in Vancouver, WA.

This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives by delivering exceptional wound care services. As a member of the center's dedicated team, you will be working alongside four doctors, nurses, medical assistants, and hyperbaric oxygen specialists who share your passion for healing.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wound care, hyperbaric medicine, or ostomy, with a proven track record of success in managing chronic wounds. Familiarity with EPIC EMR is highly preferred, but new graduates are also welcome to apply.

This role presents a rare opportunity to work in a warm and welcoming environment with 17 exam spaces, offering flexibility and autonomy in scheduling. The per diem schedule allows for up to 4-6 days of work per month, providing ample time for personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debridement of wounds using sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical methods
  • Application and management of topical wound care and ostomy associated wound management products
  • Occasional peg tube dressing and wound care
  • Direction and recommendation of associated services to improve wound healing outcomes
  • Interpretation of diagnostic tests and recommendation of appropriate follow-up

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to educate patients on topical and systemic wound management, collaborate with staff to identify patient needs, and provide regular updates to primary care physicians on patient status.
