Digital Agriculture Professor

Auburn University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Digital Agriculture to join our faculty in the Department of Biosystems Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a nationally recognized program in digital agriculture that addresses critical challenges in agricultural and forestry production, pest/disease management, and precision agriculture.
Responsibilities:- Develop a research program in digital agriculture that addresses critical challenges in agricultural and forestry production, pest/disease management, and precision agriculture.
- Secure extramural funding to support research programs and train graduate students.
- Collaborate effectively with departmental faculty and colleagues within the Colleges of Agriculture, and Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Sciences.
- Teach existing undergraduate and graduate level precision agriculture courses and develop new courses.
- Provide academic advising and career counseling for biosystems engineering students.
- Transfer results of the scholarly program through recognized and peer-reviewed outlets.
- Provide leadership to the profession through state and national professional society participation.
- Ph.D. from an accredited institution in biosystems, biological, agricultural, or closely related engineering disciplines.
- Documented evidence of individual and/or collaborative research in digital agriculture for agricultural and forest operations resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues across disciplines and develop a collaborative research program.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
