Position Overview

The main duty of this role is to assemble, maintain, and test surface and subsea pipeline repair products as needed onshore. The technician will also conduct hydrostatic testing using chart recorders.



WORK LOCATION

  • This position requires daily onsite attendance; remote work is not an option.
  • 2nd shift hours (3 pm to 12 am).
Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Interpret basic hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Understand basic drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Operate hydraulic power units.
  • Utilize general hand, hydraulic, and air tools.
  • Rig and de-rig equipment for transport using cranes, forklifts, and winches.
  • Differentiate between various hydraulic and pneumatic fittings.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing with chart recorders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of one year of experience in hydrostatic testing, including the operation of chart recorders.
  • Ability to identify different types of test fittings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (3 pm to 12 am).

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This role is categorized as SHOP/OUTDOOR WORK, characterized by the following conditions:

  • Primarily outdoor work during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Frequent exposure to moving and vibrating equipment.
  • High humidity levels, often exceeding 90%.
  • Noise levels above 85 decibels.
  • Intense light and glare.
  • Occasional exposure to open flames, sparks, and airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Stable work surfaces.
  • Constant exposure to dust.

OCCASIONAL TASKS

  • Lift heavy objects.
  • Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, and crawl.
  • Differentiate between colors.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) for skin protection.

FREQUENT TASKS

  • Lift weights between 25-50 pounds.
  • Wear PPE for head and hands.
  • Climb stairs and ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects.
  • Perform twisting movements and sit with back support.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.

CONSTANT TASKS

  • Lift weights between 10-20 pounds.
  • Engage in standing and walking activities.
  • Wear PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection.
  • Use steel/safety-toed shoes or boots.
