Job Description

As a Senior Materials Scientist and Technology Manager, you will be responsible for developing innovative materials and processes, driving new product launches, and providing technical support to our customers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new quartz products and processes to meet emerging market demands
  • Leading new product introduction projects with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Applying project management skills to plan, budget, and execute projects
  • Generating intellectual property, such as patents and publications
  • Providing manufacturing technical support for high-temperature processing of quartz and quartz-containing materials

You will work closely with our team to scale up products and processes from the bench phase to high-volume production.

Additionally, you will contribute to managing our team of Technology Technicians and play a key role in shaping the future of materials technology within our organization.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Glass Science
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Expertise in working with high-temperature processing equipment for quartz, glass, or ceramics
  • Proficiency in statistical design and analysis of experimental data
  • Project management experience and ability to collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers
