Position Overview

The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled physician-leader to serve as Director of Hematopathology. This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Pathology and is a major clinical operational leader who will provide strategic vision and collaborative implementation to ensure the future growth of Hematopathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor professional billing and collection data
  • Work collaboratively on test menu, services, and resource requests
  • Support the education mission through close engagement with training program directors and instructors of record for medical student electives
  • Support the research mission through collaboration with the department's Clinical Research Oversight Committee and other research leaders
Requirements
  • Must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO
  • Must be board-eligible or certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Hematopathology
  • A California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California is required
  • The ability to maintain a high level of service, work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain excellent relationships with medical and technical staff, trainees, and others are required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in molecular pathology is highly desirable, however, not required
