Indiana University Health is in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to enhance our Urology department.

Position Overview:

  • Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
  • Work schedule includes Fridays from 6am to 4:40pm or 6am to 6:30pm
  • Availability for Saturday shifts or a couple of half days during the week may be considered.
  • Focus on inpatient care
  • Manage a patient load of approximately 40 per week
  • Care for adult patients recovering from urologic surgeries and those needing emergency or inpatient consultations.
  • Collaborate with a team of 25 physicians and 20 advanced practice providers.
  • Involvement in procedures such as complex catheter placements, drain removals, and potential cystoscopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recovery of both minor and major surgical urology patients.
  • Participate in the admission process for primary urology patients and handle consultations from the emergency room and other inpatient services.
  • Address acute care needs during weekday shifts and ensure a smooth transition to the on-call team during evenings.
  • Adhere to established guidelines and surveillance protocols.
  • Provide education on chronic urologic conditions, discuss surgical options, and manage postoperative care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and engage in practice initiatives while pursuing opportunities for specialty-specific learning.

Qualifications:

  • Must be board eligible or certified as ACNP, AGNP, CNS, FNP, or PA.
  • Prior experience as an advanced practice provider is mandatory.
  • Experience in urology or inpatient medicine is preferred.
