Indiana University Health is in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to enhance our Urology services.

Position Overview:

  • Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
  • Work schedule includes Fridays from 6am to 4:40pm or 6am to 6:30pm; additional shifts may be considered on Saturdays or during half days throughout the week.
  • Focus on inpatient care.
  • Manage a patient load of approximately 40 per week.
  • Work with adult patients recovering from urologic surgeries and those needing emergency or inpatient consultations.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of 25 physicians and 20 advanced practice providers.
  • Involvement in procedures such as catheter placements, drain removals, and potential cystoscopies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recovery of patients following urologic surgeries, ensuring a smooth transition towards discharge.
  • Engage in the admission process for primary urology patients and handle consultations from emergency services and other departments.
  • Address acute care needs during weekday shifts and facilitate care transitions to the on-call team during evenings.
  • Adhere to established clinical guidelines and surveillance protocols.
  • Provide guidance on managing chronic urologic conditions, discuss surgical alternatives, and oversee postoperative care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, actively participate in practice initiatives, and pursue ongoing education in specialty areas.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or eligibility as ACNP, AGNP, CNS, FNP, or PA is required.
  • Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in urology or inpatient medicine is preferred.
