Indiana University Health is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to enhance our Urology department.
Position Overview:
- Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
- Shifts on Fridays from 6am to 4:40pm or 6am to 6:30pm; additional coverage may be considered on Saturdays or for half days during the week.
- Focus on inpatient care.
- Average patient load: 40 per week.
- Patient demographic: Adults recovering from urologic surgeries and those needing emergency or inpatient consultations for urology.
- Collaborative team environment with 25 physicians and 20 advanced practice providers.
- Procedural responsibilities include challenging catheter placements, drain removals, and potential cystoscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the recovery of patients post-urologic surgery, ensuring a smooth transition towards discharge.
- Engage in the admission process for primary urology patients and manage consultations from emergency and other inpatient services.
- Address acute care needs during weekday shifts and facilitate care transitions to the on-call team during evenings.
- Adhere to established guidelines and surveillance protocols diligently.
- Provide guidance on chronic urologic condition management, discuss surgical alternatives, and manage postoperative care.
- Ensure timely documentation and actively participate in practice initiatives and specialty-specific educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
- ACNP, AGNP, CNS, FNP, or PA board eligible or certified.
- Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is mandatory.
- Prior experience in urology or inpatient medicine is desirable.
