Veterinary Technician or Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our overnight ICU team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our emergency and specialty hospital, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional patient care and support during overnight shifts
- Assist with emergency and specialty medicine cases, prioritizing patient treatments and delegating tasks as needed
- Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status, and report to the veterinarian
- Educate and update owners on patient status and discharge patients from the hospital
- Assess hospitalized patients' needs and communicate details to the veterinarian overseeing the case
- Administer medication, fluid additives, and CRI's as prescribed
- Partner with veterinarians in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and free fluid
- Place and maintain nasogastric tubes, nasal cannulas, and central venous catheters
- Utilize imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Assist with minor surgical procedures
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting
- 1 year of ECC experience preferred
- RVT or VTS certification preferred but not required
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
