Our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty facility excels in internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and cardiology. We are equipped with a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on-site CT, and endoscopy.

Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in our Emergency and Critical Care department, your responsibilities will include:
  • Work Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts, Daytime hours.
  • Providing care for a diverse range of cases in Emergency and Specialty Medicine.
  • Prioritizing patient treatments, delegating tasks, and triaging critical patients. You will recognize changes in patient conditions and communicate updates to the veterinarian, as well as educate and inform pet owners about their pets' status and discharge procedures.
  • Assessing the needs of hospitalized patients and relaying information to the supervising veterinarian.
  • Administering inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout your shift.
  • Calculating and delivering medications, fluid additives, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
  • Collaborating with veterinarians in patient evaluations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Collecting and processing laboratory samples including blood, urine, and free fluid.
  • Placing and maintaining nasogastric tubes, nasal cannulas, and central venous catheters.
  • Utilizing various imaging modalities for patient assessments.
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering from all assigned sedation and anesthetic procedures.
  • Assisting in minor surgical procedures.
Our compensation for this position typically ranges from $24.00 to $32.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by skill set, experience, and licensure. We also provide an additional shift differential for evening and overnight shifts.

Candidate Profile:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital is required, with 1 year of emergency and critical care experience preferred.
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) credentials are preferred but not mandatory.
  • A thorough understanding and experience in anesthetic monitoring is essential.
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and a working knowledge of radiographic techniques are required.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and a commitment to building long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community are necessary.
  • A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills are essential.
  • A passion for delivering the highest quality of patient care is crucial.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
