Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Laboratory Technician is tasked with executing a variety of routine laboratory analyses to support production and research and development initiatives. Some travel may be involved.

Key Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Technician at Harsco is accountable for aiding the Quality Department in ensuring the overall quality of products manufactured at multiple Harsco locations by assisting or executing the following duties:

  • Conducting pre-qualification sampling and testing on new raw materials.
  • Performing in-line assessments and final product evaluations.
  • Assisting in the procurement, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Supporting the upkeep of the Calibration system.
  • Maintaining comprehensive quality records.
  • Preparing samples and coordinating the shipment of samples to approved external laboratories.
  • Providing testing and analytical support for Metal and Aggregates sales across various sites.
  • Assisting in the setup and training of certified laboratory technicians at future DOT certified Aggregate sales locations.
  • Executing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education Requirements:
Minimum - High School Diploma
Preferred - PennDOT Certified Aggregate Technician. Additional coursework in chemistry or engineering is advantageous. Relevant experience in quarry, mineral, or coal processing is beneficial. Experience as a laboratory technician is preferred. A background in statistics and proficiency in computer applications are essential.

Required Skills and Experience:
Strong mathematical, computer, and organizational skills are necessary. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required. Candidates must be capable of lifting at least 75 lbs.
