We have also developed a diverse range of by-products for specialized applications across various industries, including construction and agriculture, leveraging Harsco's expertise in mineral materials.
Under general supervision, the role involves conducting a variety of routine laboratory analyses to support production and research and development initiatives. Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:The Lab Technician at Harsco is tasked with assisting the Quality Department in ensuring the overall quality of products manufactured at different Harsco locations by performing or aiding in the following duties:
- Conducting pre-qualification sampling and testing on new raw materials.
- Executing in-line and final product evaluations.
- Assisting in the procurement, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Supporting the upkeep of the Calibration system.
- Maintaining comprehensive quality records.
- Preparing samples and coordinating the shipment of samples to approved supplier laboratories.
- Providing testing and analytical support for Metal and Aggregates sales across various sites.
- Assisting in the setup and training of certified lab technicians and laboratories at future DOT certified Aggregate sales locations.
- Performing other duties as necessary.
Education:
Minimum - High School Diploma
Preferred - PennDOT Certified Aggregate Technician. Some college education in chemistry or engineering is advantageous. Relevant work experience in quarry, mineral, or coal processing is beneficial. Experience as a laboratory technician is preferred. A background in statistics and proficiency in computer applications are essential.
Skills and Experience:
Strong mathematical, computer, and organizational skills are required. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is necessary. Candidates must be capable of lifting at least 75 lbs.
