Job Summary

The Technical Documentation Specialist - Network Infrastructure will be responsible for developing comprehensive documentation for network infrastructure projects. This includes creating detailed VISIO drawing packages, written documentation, and collaborating with engineers and field teams to ensure accurate capture of technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Document Development: Create and manage detailed VISIO drawing packages based on network infrastructure designs, site surveys, installations, and as-built documentation.
  • Written Documentation: Develop and compile comprehensive Trainer Facility Reports that include detailed written narratives of network installations, configurations, and as-built conditions.
  • Collaboration and Data Collection: Work closely with network engineers, field technicians, and project managers to gather necessary data from site surveys and installations.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain and update all documentation (VISIO drawings and written reports) to reflect any changes in network infrastructure post-installation.
  • Documentation Library Management: Organize and manage a library of drawings and reports for multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree in a related technical field (e.g., Information Technology, Engineering, or Technical Writing) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in technical writing and drawing development, preferably in network infrastructure.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Visio, with experience creating detailed diagrams for network infrastructure, including routers, switches, servers, and cabling.
  • Qualifications: Familiarity with network infrastructure components and configurations, including the ability to interpret technical specifications and site survey data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Certifications related to networking or CAD design (e.g., Cisco certifications, Microsoft certifications).
  • Skills: Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

Work Environment

The Technical Documentation Specialist - Network Infrastructure will work in a typical office environment with occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
