Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides a wide range of program management and facilities engineering services globally. Our mission is to support the US Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal agencies through our expertise in planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Technical Engineering Specialist to become part of our team.

In this role, you will deliver essential support services for the Public Works Department, focusing on various projects that cater to military operations.

This position requires a Secret Clearance and involves onsite responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance assessments to ensure compliance with design-build and design-bid-build projects, particularly in sensitive areas.
  • Advise the Government on the acceptability of work performed and alert contractors to any immediate hazards.
  • Regularly visit project sites to ensure adherence to contract specifications and safety standards, documenting findings in Quality Assurance Reports (QAR).
  • Participate in essential meetings, including kickoff sessions and construction conferences.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical and administrative submissions from contractors.
  • Evaluate constructability of plans and specifications.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with quality and safety requirements, documenting any necessary corrective actions.
  • Analyze project schedules to track construction progress and identify potential issues.
  • Assist in preparing corrective scopes and cost estimates for modifications.
  • Oversee material testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Facilitate the closeout process, including punch list preparation and final acceptance.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as an engineering technician or in a similar role within Department of Defense projects.
  • Possession of a valid US Passport and ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles applicable to various engineering disciplines.
  • Capability to interpret and review complex technical specifications and engineering designs.
  • Strong understanding of construction management practices and safety regulations.
  • Completion of the 40-hour EM Construction Safety Course within the last five years.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling software, such as Primavera, is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in diverse environmental conditions.
