Position Overview:
The Infrastructure Systems Specialist plays a crucial role within the Infrastructure and Operations Team, delivering essential support for local physical servers, storage, and network systems. This position is integral to maintaining the global enterprise infrastructure, ensuring that operational goals align with the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Infrastructure Systems Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with plant technology to implement IT solutions that address business needs.
- Overseeing the maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud services.
- Working alongside the International Infrastructure team to support global initiatives.
- Engaging with site leadership to comprehend business requirements related to IT infrastructure.
- Identifying trends in problem management and conducting root cause analyses.
- Automating non-value-added manual tasks to enhance team efficiency.
- Coordinating with the Project Management Office (PMO) to plan and deliver technology solutions.
- Prioritizing and executing tasks as directed by internal and project leadership.
- Utilizing the enterprise ticketing system to manage work assignments and maintain service level agreements.
- Performing Level 1 analysis and resolution of technical issues for various end users.
- Maintaining global asset tracking for infrastructure technologies.
- Tracking vendor licensing for all supported components.
- Developing standard build images for server and network technologies.
- Executing patch management for operating systems and firmware.
- Creating and updating training documentation for supported components.
- Providing ongoing training to system engineers and administrators.
- Offering on-call support as required.
- Supervising one employee as needed.
- Carrying out additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years in physical/virtual server, network, and backup technologies, with specific experience in:
- Windows server operating systems.
- Virtualized server technologies.
- Cisco network technologies.
- Scripting and automating infrastructure.
- Patching and updating firmware.
- Cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google.
- Collaboration with security teams.
Skills:
Strong customer service orientation, effective communication skills, and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel are essential. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
