SUMMARY

The Mechanical Assembly Specialist utilizes advanced assembly and manufacturing expertise to independently assemble, fabricate, construct, modify, and fine-tune various mechanical units and subassemblies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assembles mechanical units and subassemblies requiring detailed assembly knowledge and mechanical proficiency. Accurately positions and connects numerous components and mechanisms, adhering to precise tolerances. May fabricate, modify, or repair basic fixtures, dies, and gauges.
  • Accountable for setting up and executing a variety of operations, including saws, drill presses, deburring equipment, tube benders, glass beaders, EDM machines, degreasers, pressure testing equipment, assembly fixtures, and both hand and power tools.
  • Operates with minimal supervision, interpreting blueprints, sketches, and both written and verbal instructions.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of produced parts during setup and throughout the assembly process.
  • Performs necessary adjustments, maintenance, and lubrication, ensuring that hand tools and measurement devices are maintained for optimal job performance.
  • Engages in tasks across different cells and undertakes related duties as assigned.
  • Mentors and guides less experienced assemblers in proper procedures and may suggest enhancements to assembly techniques to supervisors.
  • Maintains an organized workspace and adheres to all safety protocols established by Boyd Company.
