Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at King's Daughters. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Patients for Physician Visits: Obtain patient vitals, chief complaint, past medical history, medication history, and updates, and ensure best practice alerts are addressed prior to the physician visit.
  • Gather Health Data: Collect pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples, and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provide Basic Patient Care: Administer prescribed medications, monitor and document treatment progress, and provide teaching and educational material to patients and their families.
  • Manage Nursing In Basket Responsibilities: Actively manage the nursing in basket responsibilities in a timely fashion and perform registration duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing and maintain active LPN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and/or Ohio.
  • Preferred Qualifications: One year LPN experience.
Working Environment

Our Medical Assistants work in a fast-paced environment with constant exposure to blood and/or body fluids and infection. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands
  • Lifting and Moving: Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
  • Communication: Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team members requiring talking and hearing.
