Job Description

This position oversees the clinical and administrative aspects of the mental health program within the foster/adoption agency, working with FFA and THPP NMD clients. The individual will provide weekly management for mental health clinicians and other service staff, ensuring proper documentation of services, accurate billing, and production of contract reports. This position may provide some direct clinical service to youth, young adults, and families and will assist in the training of incoming resource families.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that all staff complies with licensing regulations, mandated reporting requirements, and agency standards.
  2. Provide liaison services to county and state agencies and community partners.
  3. Attend appropriate meetings with the County and community partners.
  4. Ensure that the Contract requirements are met.
  5. Oversee Contract Budget and work with staff to ensure productivity is met.
  6. Work together with the FFA and THPP directors to ensure integration and non-duplication of services.
  7. Participate in District Admin meetings which address child placement, foster parent recruitment, training, and certification and respond to foster parent/children incidents to ensure a fully integrated service.
  8. Implement and participate in all employee hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures in conjunction with and as approved by supervisor and Human Resources.
  9. Prepare and conduct the Performance Evaluation Process with supervised personnel.
  10. Communicate with supervisor every week, or more often as needed, for information exchange, assistance, and guidance.
  11. Conduct weekly clinical staff meetings, clinical reviews, and weekly individual clinical supervision.
  12. Provide initial and ongoing training for staff.
  13. Conduct supervised hours toward staff members' licensure.
  14. Assign cases, manage caseloads, and review case files.
  15. Complete, review, and/or approve all reports and significant correspondence and complete all required contract reports and documentation.
  16. Assist staff with writing, assessment, and treatment skills to eliminate errors and inconsistencies for quality assurance purposes.
  17. Oversee interventions in accordance with established on-call guidelines.
  18. Work with the QA Department to establish internal controls and audit processes.
  19. Oversee CQI, CARF, and HIPAA compliance related to Mental Health files.
  20. Conduct supervised hours toward staff members' licensure.
  21. At all times, it projects a favorable image of Walden Family Services.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be licensed as a LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or Psychologist. Candidates must have been licensed for two years or more and meet all Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements to provide supervision.

2. Must have been practicing as a therapist for a minimum of 2 out of the last 5 years.

3. Experience managing a program that serves children and families; experience with direct clinical work and play therapy.

4. Experience developing behavioral treatment plans for and working with behaviorally and emotionally distributed children/youth and their caregivers is required.

5. Must be able to work effectively with others and manage personnel, program, and financial issues as they apply to the position.

6. Must have the knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations as to the population served. Prefer candidates who have experience working with children with developmental disabilities.

7. Knowledge of EPSDT documentation preferred.

8. Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a good driving record.

9. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearances from the Department of Justice.

10. Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility.

EMPLOYEE STATUS: EXEMPT

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $95,000 - Beginning salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
