Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathology Program Coordinator to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of speech pathology programs. This includes staff and departmental goal setting, department projects, literature, supplies, and continuing education, peer review, and productivity, quality of care, and service.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for a variety of communication disorders, voice, and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
• Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
• Monitor the status of results and collaborate with physicians when altering treatment programs.
• Serve as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams and serve as a clinical expert in specialized areas such as pediatric speech, traumatic brain injury, etc.
• Train CFY candidates and ensure compliance with TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Participate in the development of department policies and procedures and develop protocols and treatment programs within specialized areas.
• Develop and present in-service programs in areas of specialty and assume other activities and responsibilities as directed.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Minimum two years SLP experience
• Active unencumbered SLP California state license
• Graduate from a fully accredited SLP Masters Degree program

• Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
• Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
• A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
• Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
