Information Security Officer

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., a leading employee-owned management consulting and digital transformation firm, is seeking a dedicated System Security Officer to contribute to our initiatives supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In this role, you will be integral to the design, development, and ongoing security oversight of SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online hosted within the Microsoft Azure for Government (MAG) cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the primary liaison with all Component Organization Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), both Federal and Contractor personnel, to facilitate seamless integration and adherence to CMS security standards.
  2. Perform assessments of security controls by applying NIST Special Publication 800-53a, which includes conducting stakeholder interviews, reviewing documentation, and executing technical evaluations of necessary security measures.
  3. Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including security plans, contingency strategies, compliance records, risk assessments, milestones, security control evaluations, FedRAMP access protocols, and other security-related artifacts as mandated by CMS.
  4. Ensure the maintenance of the Authority to Operate (ATO) and uphold compliance with HHS/CMS security regulations and procedures.
  5. Engage in ongoing security research to stay informed about emerging security challenges and solutions.
Essential Skills:
  1. Possession of an active Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.
  2. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Capability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Essential Experience:
  1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise security implementation.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online (SPO).
  4. Experience working with the Microsoft Azure for Government (MAG) cloud platform.
  5. Experience within the Health and Human Services (HHS) sector is advantageous.
