Shift Details: 2nd shift from 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Specialist:
  • Conduct daily monitoring of the facility and staff to ensure adherence to the food safety protocols; perform formal audits on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Facilitate training for facility personnel on GMPs, Risk Preventive Controls, Hazard Analysis, prerequisite programs, and other relevant food safety system components as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze product samples as needed, documenting the information obtained from the analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of all facility analytical results; promptly report any out-of-specification results to the Quality Assurance supervisor.
  • Prepare documented reports of analytical findings for the QA supervisor, and track and report data trends.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials; assist in investigating non-conformances and product complaints; lead the facility team in conducting self-audits.
  • Assist in hosting visitors to the facility, including representatives from regulatory agencies and customers, serving as the primary host for third-party auditors.
  • Ensure that products are processed in accordance with company HACCP/HARPC programs.
  • Notify Quality Assurance Management of any food safety concerns.
  • Implement and manage corrective actions related to food safety.
  • Support local and corporate management in implementing changes to the food safety system; assist in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and programs, in collaboration with the quality assurance team; help maintain document registers and documentation.
  • Exhibit an innovative, resourceful, and proactive approach, dedicated to continuous improvement and delivering quality service.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and accurately perform job responsibilities within deadlines.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality in this hourly role.
  • Handle minor tasks related to the responsibilities of the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in administrative tasks, including paperwork completion and reconciliation, is preferred.
  • Prior experience in quality assurance is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, particularly in food manufacturing, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations and GMPs is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, are required.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Basic mental math skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills in English are necessary.
  • Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • This role is primarily static with standing; however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing is also required. The role involves lifting 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Additionally, the ability to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally is necessary.
  • This position operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (approximately 35 degrees F) within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production facility. The ability to endure cold temperatures for the duration of the shift is required.
