SUMMARY:
The Production Engineering Specialist will oversee the engineering functions related to manufacturing processes.

This role involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of methods and processes aimed at minimizing product costs, enhancing productivity and capacity, and elevating quality standards.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, implement, and uphold safe manufacturing practices to facilitate design and production.
• Assess the manufacturability and production implications of engineering designs.
• Provide insights and feedback on engineering design modifications.
• Diagnose and resolve production challenges associated with mechanized equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
• Requires experience in machine maintenance for electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Analyze the manufacturability of products and the labor hours required in light of specification modifications.

• Accountable for identifying root causes of issues, implementing containment measures, and determining corrective actions to avert production delays or interruptions.

• Design efficient and organized layouts for manufacturing environments.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Justify and facilitate the acquisition of new equipment.
• Collaborate with various departments, clients, and suppliers to fulfill responsibilities.
• Due to the dynamic nature of our industry, this job description may evolve.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• A minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing, with a solid background in assembly processes and operations, particularly with ignition wire harnesses.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis methods is preferred.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting schematic drawings and diagrams.
• Basic skills in machining, assembly, and drafting.
• Experience in product design is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with production teams and management.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions may vary between an office setting and a warehouse environment with a concrete floor. Employees are frequently exposed to moving mechanical components, and the noise level in the workplace is typically high. Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
