Job Summary:
DAP is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Pacific, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining EHS programs, identifying and developing safety directives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Identify and Communicate Compliance ObligationsMonitor regulatory developments in the environment, health, and safety area to identify new or revised compliance obligations and advise plant leadership accordingly. Develop and distribute plain language health and safety compliance requirement directives to plant management.
Act in a Leadership Role with Plant Personnel in Fulfilling Health/Safety Compliance ObligationsProvide direction, review, and oversee all safety systems. Identify, communicate, and assist in the development of best practices for injury prevention. Ensure reporting and record-keeping are complete, accurate, and timely.
Develop and Maintain Plant PSM/PHA/RMP ActivitiesLead the efforts in Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance and addressing shortfalls. Review new and continuous improvement projects for requirements related to PHA/PSM.
Ensure Adherence to Safety Compliance Obligations and DirectivesConduct monthly issue review sessions with Corporate EH&S and Plant Managers to ensure facility compliance and maintain safety performance objectives.
Conduct and Manage Incident Analysis ProgramLead, assist, and maintain incident reporting procedures to DAP Corporate and RPM. Evaluate trends in incidents and recommend corrective actions to minimize or eliminate undesirable trends.
Maintain Environmental Reporting RequirementsKeep accurate records on plant emission calculations to maintain monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting submission requirements. Ensure plants stay in compliance with required external and internal reporting requirements.
Requirements:- EHS degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or similar field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Computer software familiarity.
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Experience in research skills.
- Certified Safety Professional preferred.
