Matrix Providers is seeking an Advanced Nurse Anesthesia Specialist to join our team of skilled professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families.

Employment Status: Full-time
Compensation: This position is for an Independent Contractor and is compensated hourly, on a bi-weekly basis.
Schedule: Services will be provided between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Shifts will be 8.5 hours long, including an unpaid 30-minute meal break, and will be scheduled flexibly according to departmental operating hours.

Requirements:
The Advanced Nurse Anesthesia Specialist must possess and meet the following qualifications:

  • Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
  • Education: Graduate from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).
  • Certification: Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Experience: Demonstrated clinical proficiency within the last two years in the relevant clinical discipline.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse anesthetist.

Job Summary:

  • Oversee patient anesthesia experiences, conduct preoperative evaluations and preparations, administer monitored anesthesia care, regional and general anesthesia, and monitor and manage patient responses to anesthesia and surgical procedures.
  • Conduct a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient, which includes obtaining informed consent, requesting consultations and diagnostic studies, and prescribing pre-anesthetic medications.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive anesthetic care plan.
  • Perform an assessment immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia, reviewing the medical record for completeness, pertinent laboratory data, and any changes in the patient's condition since previous visits.
  • Maintain the patient's physiological stability and address any abnormal responses to anesthesia and surgery.
  • Collect and interpret patient physiological data through the application of noninvasive monitoring techniques.
  • Manage the patient's airway and respiratory status effectively.
  • Facilitate the patient's recovery from anesthesia by ensuring homeostasis, alleviating pain and side effects, and preventing complications through the administration of medications, fluids, or ventilatory support.
  • Document all significant events during the administration of anesthesia, including dosages and durations of anesthetic agents and other medications.
  • Record post-anesthetic evaluations, including notes on the presence or absence of anesthesia-related complications.
