Key Responsibilities
The Department of Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is actively seeking a board eligible or board certified anesthesiologist to enhance our practice within the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. This role includes an academic position with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Candidates interested in resident education, clinical research, and those who wish to contribute to the advancement of these programs at Mayo Clinic are highly encouraged to consider this opportunity.
We offer comprehensive anesthesia management for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, alongside pre- and post-operative care for our patients. Our department consists of over 50 board-certified anesthesiologists organized into five divisions: Cardiothoracic, Multispecialty, Neuroanesthesiology, Solid Organ Transplant, and Acute Pain/Regional Anesthesiology. We train six anesthesiology residents annually, supported by over 90 CRNAs and a dedicated team of anesthesia technologists committed to delivering exceptional clinical care. We strongly advocate for the anesthesiology care team model in our practice.

Qualifications
License or Certification: Board certification or board eligibility is required. Completion of a fellowship in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology and TEE board certification is mandatory. Experience in cardiothoracic transplantation anesthesia is preferred but not essential. Applicants with dual training in critical care may be considered for a joint appointment with the Department of Critical Care Medicine on a case-by-case basis.
