Job Summary:

The Derbyshire County Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Anti-Social Behaviour Officer to join our Housing and Community Safety department on a temporary basis. As an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, you will play a crucial role in dealing with cases of Anti-Social Behaviour, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure effective resolution and prevention of such incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with victims, witnesses, and perpetrators of Anti-Social Behaviour, gathering evidence and taking statements as necessary.
  • Investigate cases of Anti-Social Behaviour, identifying root causes and developing strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Work with internal and external partners, including Housing, Community Safety, Community Enforcement Rangers, and the police, to ensure effective collaboration and information sharing.
  • Carry out enforcement activities, including issuing warnings, notices, and progressing prosecutions, as necessary.
  • Attend court proceedings, as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Anti-Social Behaviour and its effects on victims and communities.
  • Good standard of literacy and computer/typing skills, with ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, other agencies, and members of the public in challenging situations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload, recognizing and mitigating risks of harm.
  • Previous experience in enforcement and/or conflict resolution is advantageous, but not essential.
