Job Summary

MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc is seeking a skilled and passionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Illinois. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist conducts nuclear medicine procedures under the guidance of a radiologist, operating independently without constant supervision of technical details. They adhere to ALARA principles and all regulatory requirements to ensure safe and appropriate patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Imaging Equipment Operation: Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to obtain high-quality images.
  • Patient Care and Comfort: Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
  • Image Quality and Record Keeping: Follow protocols to obtain high-quality images and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Adverse Reaction Monitoring: Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions.
  • Collaboration and Interpretation: Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection measures.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Inventory: Perform quality control tests on equipment and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and families about procedures and address any concerns.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Professional Standards: Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: Completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine program with associated certificate or degree.
  • Experience: One (1) year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • Licensure and Registry: IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine and ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry required.
  • Certification: Maintains Basic Life support certification.
