Job Summary

Rush is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Oak Park, IL. As a key member of our Diagnostic Services team, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing a full range of Nuclear Medicine examinations, ensuring the efficient operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform Nuclear Medicine examinations, utilizing extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to ensure diagnostic-quality scans.
  • Operate complex equipment, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality scans using established protocols.
  • Maintain equipment and required logs, including quality control measures, within the department and hot lab.
  • Administer radioisotopes to render specific organs or systems for scanning, utilizing proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures.
  • Work independently, documenting procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and state/federal requirements.
  • Take call on a rotating schedule, demonstrating the ability to organize patient care and set priorities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 months to 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program, Associate degree preferred, certified in Nuclear Medicine (N.M.T.C.B.) or Registered by the ARRT.
  • Current active Illinois State License and CPR certification.
  • Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with hospital personnel and patients, possessing verbal and written skills to facilitate communication.
  • Knowledge of various Nuclear Medicine equipment, PACs system, EPIC EMR, hospital phone system, and patient transportation devices.
Physical Demands
  • Physical, visual, auditory, and full-body mobility to successfully move and/or assist patients on and off exam tables or transportation devices.
