Position Overview

Become an integral part of a prestigious academic healthcare institution at The University of Chicago Medicine as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist within the CT Department.

As a CT Technologist, you will have the chance to engage with cutting-edge technologies, enhance your imaging capabilities, and contribute to various research initiatives and clinical trials.

The CT Technologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging procedures as assigned, adhering to radiation safety protocols, exercising professional judgment during imaging tasks, and providing essential patient care throughout the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct imaging procedures as directed
  • Position patients accurately to ensure optimal image quality
  • Select appropriate technical parameters for imaging
  • Utilize computer systems to document patient information
  • Operate all technical equipment proficiently within the diagnostic modality
  • Assist physicians in executing imaging studies
  • Prepare and administer contrast media as required
  • Maintain imaging equipment in proper working order
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area
  • Manage inventory of necessary supplies effectively

Qualifications Required

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology technology program
  • Strong communication and patient care skills are essential
  • Current ARRT registration within 12 months of hire
  • Advanced CT certification is mandatory (New Graduates are welcome)
  • Illinois state licensure (IEMA) is required
  • CPR certification is required; BLS certification is recommended
