Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging studies using computed tomography (CT) scanners
  • Position patients to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures
  • Select and adjust technical factors to optimize image quality
  • Utilize computer systems to record patient information and manage imaging procedures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with physicians to perform imaging studies and provide patient care
  • Prepare and administer contrast media to patients as needed
  • Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs to appropriate personnel
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment
  • Manage inventory of imaging supplies and equipment
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiology technology training in an AMA-approved program
  • Effective communication and patient care skills
  • Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of hire date
  • Advanced CT certification (open to new graduates)
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
  • CPR training and BLS certification recommended
