Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. As a key member of our membership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and guests, promoting memberships and programs, and maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere in our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Services: Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs, and provide direct instruction and support to participants.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention and satisfaction.
  • Membership Sales: Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members, sell memberships, and promote the benefits of membership.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members, program participants, and colleagues, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous customer service, sales, or related experience preferred.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people, and basic knowledge of computers.
  • Certifications: Must hold and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications prior to employment, and obtain YMCA Member Service Trainings within 60 days of employment.
